Evening readings add useful context when collected under similar conditions.
Why it matters
Avoid measuring immediately after a meal, exercise, alcohol, or a stressful event unless your clinician asks you to.
A practical routine
- Choose a calm time you can repeat.
- Use the same chair, arm, and cuff position.
- Take two readings about one minute apart.
Make the record useful
Use a correctly fitted upper-arm cuff, sit quietly with supported posture, and record paired readings when recommended. Add a short note when illness, pain, poor sleep, stress, exercise, meals, or medication timing adds context.
